Peace of Cake

Picture
This was originally an initiative of Lewisham Islamic Centre for which we are particularly grateful because it is where we first started making real friends and getting involved. These 'coffee mornings' are now held in various places at different times of day and welcome everyone to stand together against racism in all its forms

Helping Our New Neighbours Settle In

Our Local Authority has accepted and housed ten families fleeing the violence in the Middle East and we feel blessed to be able to join with other local groups in welcoming them, concentrating on finding the many household items they need. When they came to see and choose we also had a very nice time in our kitchen!

Supporting Other Refugees and Asylum Seekers

We have also  long supported the LEWCAS food bank for asylum seekers and helped with work in the camps at Calais. Our children also raised money and sent solar chargers for mobile phones. It was their idea. Really.
